 Yukitomo Tsutsumi

Born July 18, 1958 in Fukuoka.

I graduated from the Department of Physics at Kyushu University in 1982 and received a master's degree in atmospheric physics from the Graduate School of Kyushu University in 1984. I also got Ph. D in Kyushu University.

I was employed in Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) in 1986 and conducted researches on atmospheric trace gases at Meteorological Research Institute (MRI). After that, I experienced the staff of the headquarters in JMA, the head of the several meteorological observatories, and the professor of Meteorological College. Subsequently, I was appointed in the director of Atmospheric Environment Division in JMA, and the director of Climate Research Department in MRI. I retired JMA in 2018, and now I am a staff of National Institute of Environmental Studies.

I have published the book “The advance history of meteorology and weather forecast” in Japanese (Maruzen Publishing). I also translated “Storm Watchers” by John D. Cox into Japanese.
